I took two of my grandchildren to the fair last weekend! We saw great geese! Then Facebook memories sent me this photo that I took while with @victoriapearceart on our way to film an episode of “Greatest Canadian Artist”. (I did not win lol). But it was fun to start this painting today! A 12 by 12! This is the colour blocking stage. First stage is painting the canvas red with cadnium red hue and then chalking in the image. An “inking” with a burgundy paint is next to solidify and fix the drawing. Then this stage. Making most of the decisions here but it not finished. Tomorrow!!

Copper (Yellow Lab) and Piper (Black Lab) were painted a few years ago. I was fascinated with doing some large studies using complementary colours! Especially using Dioxazine Purple by @goldenpaints

They have gone through all the stages! Infancy, where I nurtured and crooned over them. Toddlerhood when I was so pleased with them! They have quickly grown up though childhood into being young adults! They live in my basement and seem to want to continue being there! I still love them but really want them launched!

Artist friends, what do you do with unsold paintings?
Friends who aren’t artists what is it about these that is not capturing your desire? Dog owners in particular! I want to know?

They are 48 by 48 inches. I thought they would be amazing for a veterinarian don’t you? Or a modern loft?

I had them deeply discounted at my garden tour but they refused to go. Wanna make me an offer through DM? Lol.
