Years ago my Square Foot Show was in person. There was something special about that. People lined up in the cold of winter and grabbed paintings off the walls! My studio on James Street in Hamilton was where I hosted it and where I worked. Then Covid hit and I took it online with my team. It smashed the internet opening night! I always answer this question by talking about colour aesthetic and personal palette. A person actually has a preferred palette. They tend to gravitate to the same types of colours over and over again. Recognizing this is very helpful when buying art. Buying art to match a certain colour theme may result in not being satisfied with the piece in the long term. I always say that if you are collecting things because you love them, they will go together. Buy that pillow because you love it, that throw and that rug! Only because you love it! Begin to trust that inner palette and aesthetic and you will create a collection that you can live with. I often get asked if I teach. I used to do it regularly but had to stop, but now with the @crownandpressgallery and its wonderful space I can offer a class again! When I first went to Moraine Lake I was just amazed at the beauty! I have since painted from my reference photos so many times! This original is sold but prints are available! My Black Friday sale is happening! 20 percent off prints and 30 percent off embellished prints. For the embellished prints I like to think it is a reinterpretation somewhat. I paint 1/4 to 1/3 of the image again with acrylic paint. Making it a new and unique piece! I am enjoying seeing what you have been acquiring. Each painting brings back memories. I am glad to share them with you!

Have you thought about painting as a series of decisions? Many of them, if you are a seasoned painter are done without thinking. But you often have to think through your solution and decide where you are going to go. My problem area most often is the upper left hand corner. What do you have trouble with?
