It’s tonight! I promise I will put some makeup on to be really ready! Our final show of 2023, Julia Veenstra & friends, starts TONIGHT (November 30) at 5pm Pacific/ 8pm EST, and we thought we’d send over a few tips for a successful hunt! We’re sure that many of you have already checked out 48 hour preview (password: julia2023) and have your eyes on something special. In the first two hours of each show, we’ll see thousands of shoppers from around the world hit the store at exactly the same time to buy just about 300 one-of-a-kind pieces. Here are four things you can do to help you get the one you’ve had your eyes on in a show which has been called “the Black Friday of art”. 1. Shop on your fastest internet and filter by artist. Use whichever internet connection is fastest to shop, even if it’s your phone! If you have your eyes on a particular piece, use the filtering options on the left side to view only the pieces by that artist. 2. Prioritize your selections and buy one at a time. We recommend creating a priority list and making purchases one at a time. This will ensure that you don’t lose out on the piece you just have to have while you filled your cart. 3. (Optional) Sign up for an account at https://shop.app/ One way to speed up the checkout process would be to use the Shop App. You can sign up for an account on your desktop, iPhone or Android device. Once logged in, input and save your shipping and payment information and you’ll be able to make your purchases in one click! This could make all the difference when it comes to getting that crucial piece. 4. Visit SHOP.SQUAREFOOTSHOW.COM Visit our shop link rather than our website. The shop will ‘open’ right at 8pm Eastern sharp. Visiting the shop will save you a little time! The show runs through midnight on Saturday! So, come back Friday and Saturday if you can’t make it on time. Last but not least, don’t forget to join our headliner, founder/ co-owner, Julia Veenstra, and several of our artists live on the Square Foot Show instagram starting 30 minutes before the show! Years ago my Square Foot Show was in person. There was something special about that. People lined up in the cold of winter and grabbed paintings off the walls! My studio on James Street in Hamilton was where I hosted it and where I worked. Then Covid hit and I took it online with my team. It smashed the internet opening night! Now we have been able to lift emerging and established artists for the world to see! Literally the world! Artists from all across North America and even further participate, support and encourage and collect each others work even! I am super proud of the @squarefootshow team. This is special. I always answer this question by talking about colour aesthetic and personal palette. A person actually has a preferred palette. They tend to gravitate to the same types of colours over and over again. Recognizing this is very helpful when buying art. Buying art to match a certain colour theme may result in not being satisfied with the piece in the long term. I always say that if you are collecting things because you love them, they will go together. Buy that pillow because you love it, that throw and that rug! Only because you love it! Begin to trust that inner palette and aesthetic and you will create a collection that you can live with. I often get asked if I teach. I used to do it regularly but had to stop, but now with the @crownandpressgallery and its wonderful space I can offer a class again! When I first went to Moraine Lake I was just amazed at the beauty! I have since painted from my reference photos so many times! This original is sold but prints are available! My Black Friday sale is happening! 20 percent off prints and 30 percent off embellished prints. For the embellished prints I like to think it is a reinterpretation somewhat. I paint 1/4 to 1/3 of the image again with acrylic paint. Making it a new and unique piece! I am enjoying seeing what you have been acquiring. Each painting brings back memories. I am glad to share them with you!
